Going To The Chapel...

So, some of you may be wondering why I haven't posted anything since October and in my defense I think I have a very good reason... I AM GETTING MARRIED!!

My amazing soon-to-be husband proposed to me on the sands of Virginia Beach on Thanksgiving morning and my life has been moving about a zillion miles per hour since then! We will be getting married at the end of July, at which point I will be moving to Raleigh, N.C. to be with him and to continue my education though pursuing my masters degree in mental health counseling at N.C. State. 

Sadly, this means that I wont be doing too much more business here in the NRV for a while, however if you are down in North Carolina and in need of some pictures, be sure to hit me up :) Also, don't forget about me too quickly, because I have some ideas for a new blog that I may be starting up in the next few months. Thank you all so much for your business, love, support, and faith over this past year, it has meant so much to me, and it is my hope that all of you will continue to enjoy the beauty of the world around you. Upcoming Show: St. Peter and St. Paul Fall Festival

Hello Everyone! Art On The Lawn Recap

Well our second show was a success. We had a wonderful time at the Giles Art Council's Art on the Lawn show this past Saturday! We had wonderful fall temperatures, the company of some very talented local artists, and beautiful scenery. There aren't many better ways to spend a September Saturday than that. Thankfully the rain held off until literally ten minutes after we packed up! The show was located on the lawn of the historic Giles County courthouse, with twenty four vendors both professional and "new and emerging", fun children's activities like hat making and balloon painting, and wonderful music ranging from bluegrass to beautiful harp music. It was a wonderful opportunity! My thanks to the Giles Art Council for inviting us! 

Giles County Art on The Lawn Show This Saturday!

Katie: Healthy Roots Happy Life

Yesterday I got the wonderful opportunity to do a photo shoot with Katie Haines. Katie is new to the area and is in the process of starting up a health counseling program called Healthy Roots Happy Life. Katie is a holistic health coach who helps people set and meet their health goals, whether that be to lose weight, get more energy, or eat healthier. She wanted my help in taking some pictures for her website and program materials. I had so much fun getting to work with Katie and I hope that some of the pictures we got to take will inspire people to meet with her and work towards living healthy happy lives. Shannon and Art

So this post is long overdue, but in July I got another wonderful opportunity to photograph another wedding with Laura's Focus Photography. The wedding of Shannon and Art. Shannon and Art have been together for a number of years, and in that time they have had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling together. In fact they are currently living in Dubai!  It was this aspect of world travels that gave their wedding its very personal, unique, and beautiful theme. The wedding took place in the beautiful Blacksburg Church of Christ with the reception being held at the German club. Everyone had so much fun dancing and celebrating into the night and the children even got to play with glow bracelets and do the chicken dance! Congratulations Shannon and Art!

Summer Musical Enterprise Presents: Cinderalla!

Summer may be coming to a close, but it still has one last magical tradition left, the annual summer musical put on by the Summer Musical Enterprise. This year's show is a magical rendition of Cinderella, and I was honored when I was asked to do their annual photo call. The sets and costumes are as magical as can be and the cast and crew are wonderful! This is a must see for all fairy tale lovers and families. The show is being held in Burrass auditorium this weekend. For one last chance to see it, it is being held tomorrow at 2:30.
